Create Parts

A Part is a component of the assembly and is used to contain Geometric Entities, CAD entities, and modeling entities (such as Moves, Tolerances, and Measures).  A Part is often used to represent one physical part within an assembly of parts. It can also be used to contain other parts and act as an assembly.

Procedure:

Go to the Geometry Tab and select Create arrowDCS create_parts Parts, or right-click on the Root or Part level in the Model Navigator.

This brings up the Click Tree window / Select Part dialog box.

Click on the Tree window to make it active.

Click on a part and an additional part will be created as a sub-part (to the left). The assembly tree rolls from right to left, where the complete assembly is the root on the right and the part components are towards the left.

When a new file is created, the Tree window displays the part named Root.  This is the start point in a new Tree window and parts can be added to its left by clicking on it.

When all the parts have been created, click on Close in the Click Tree window dialog box.

Thus, the entire assembly tree can be created by adding parts appropriately.
