Working with Geometric Entities

The Geometric Entities form the structure or framework for every tolerance model.  Geometric Entities can be created in 3DCS from imported CAD lines or they can be created at specific coordinate positions (without the assistance of CAD lines).  Geometric Entities can be imported from an existing 3DCS model.

The basic Geometric Entities are Feature Points, Coordinate Points, Circles, and Slots. Holes are just an extension of circles, and Lines and Dynamic Midpoints are created from points.  All Geometric Entities are contained within a Part.  Therefore, each time you create a new Geometric Entity, you will have to define which part it belongs within.

All geometry elements can be created in 3DCS by accessing the Geometry tab under the Create menu.

All geometry elements can be modified in 3DCS by accessing the Geometry tab under the Modify menu.

All geometry elements can be deleted in 3DCS by accessing the Geometry tab under the Delete menu.
