Saving in a CAD System

Each CAD system has their own way of saving a part or an assembly. When 3DCS is integrated with the CAD system, the 3DCS data and information will be stored with the top or main assembly file. So, when a user selects to use Save, Save As, Save All or Save Management, the 3DCS will also be saved as well. Empty Parts with no dcs data will not be saved internally. this improves the performance speed for large models.

Save: Using Save will save the active part or assembly, as well as the 3DCS data in the assembly.

Important: 3DCS has blocked the ability

to Save or Close while the 3DCS model is in DVTI_dcsNominalBuild Nominal Build position.

To Save or Close the assembly, select DVTI_dcsSeparate_SP Separate.
