Reviewing an Existing Model

The objective of this lesson is to help a new user become familiar with  and the 3DCS workbenches and toolbars. All icon functions can also be found under the 3DCS menu.

 

Start 3DCS and import the 3dxml called: 3DCS Tutorials.3dxml. When the Search for: Folder: Tutorials in the search field. Mouse over to the left side of the screen and press the arrow to expand the Navigation Tree. Open the folders to the Manual Gear Shifter Asm. Right-click on Lesson6_Manual_Gear_Shifter_Asm and select Open. The 3DCS workbench can be found by going to the Start menu then Analysis & Simulation and select 3DCS Variation Analyst.. The default location of the Completed Lessons folder is:

 

Import the 3dxml called: 3DCS Tutorials.3dxml from the Tutorials folder (at path listed below).  In the Folder App of 3DEXPERIENCE, open the completed 3DCS model Lesson6_Manual_Gear_Shifter_Asm from the Completed Lessons folder. The default location of the Tutorials folder is:

 

C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\DCS\3DCS_V5_8_2_0_0\Tutorials

 

The location of your Tutorials folder may be different depending on how 3DCS was installed. For this lesson, we will explore the completed model. In the following lessons, we will build the model from scratch.

 

Select the 3DCS tab from the ribbon if not already there.

Click DVTI_CAT3DCSS Load 3DCS.

Click DVTI_dcsUpdateModel Update Model.
