Measures track the variation in the assembly from all the Tolerances and the Floating variation such as locating a 9mm pin in a 10mm hole. Within a measure, we can specify limits of the allowable amount of variation. This will allow us to study the capability of the assembly and whether changes are needed to improve the capability
In general, the main goal in creating a 3DCS model is to look closely at the Measures (such as gaps and flushness) to determine if the model is reasonably in-spec (within the specified limits). For this Mechanical\MVM tutorial model we will create four Point to Point measures, one GD&T measure and one feature to feature measure. Please refer to the goals specified earlier in this tutorial
