Reset Parts Position

The DVTI_resetpartpos Reset Parts Position will reset the Local Coordinate System of the selected part or assembly. This brings the part to its nominal position. The Local Coordinate System (LCS) is the coordinate system that is established when parts are translated or rotated from their nominal position.  This function is only recommended for components that are designed in common coordinate system.

Procedure

1.Under Update Model toolbar, select DVTI_resetpartpos Reset Parts Position.  

2.Select the component to reset the coordinate system. A conformation dialog box with the name of the part is displayed.

3.Clicking Yes will undo all translation and rotation to the part. The part will be at its nominal position after LCS has been reset.

4.Clicking No will escape the dialog box back to the Tree window.

 

Note:

You can select a sub-assembly or the main assembly or Root. This will reset all assemblies and it's sub-parts.
