The Set Part Position function saves the current screen position of the part or assembly, whether it was built in Nominal Build, Animated, Deviated, or set the parts to their Min or Max positions of each part from the Simulation window.
This function supports resetting the location of the parts & assemblies to the nominal position if they were translated out for model building or animation, assuming the Nominal Build of the moves is correct. |
1.Select Set Part Position.
2.Select the component (single part or assembly).
3.Confirm 3DCS will save the part's/assembly's new position: Clicking on Yes will set the part position. Clicking on No will cancel the function and close the dialog.
1. Select Set Part Position and pick the Assembly.
2. Confirm 3DCS will save the part's/assembly's new position: Clicking on Yes will set the part position. Clicking on No will cancel the function and close the dialog.
3. This will save this new position as Creo's Exploded View with the name starting with "DCS_Exp_.....".
4. Now hit Separate in 3DCS
5. Open the Model View Manager dialog and select the Exploded view created from Set Part Position.
6. Double click to activate it and notice the CAD parts getting updated.
7. Now click Update Model to now save this position to be the new Start position.
Notes:Using Set Part Position with Nominal Build or Deviated assemblies can also be analyzed with the CAD system's measurement functions and Sectioning Tool.
