Used when a part is to be set at a particular position changing its nominal location. This changes the X, Y and Z coordinates of the part depending on the amount of translation or rotation. This will permanently change the coordinates of the part. Once changed the original coordinates cannot be recovered. This is not a visual display change.
Procedure:
•Click on Geometry 
Set Nominal From Current.
•This brings up the Set Nominal from Current dialog, prompting the user to select the desired component.
•Click on the part whose nominal needs to be changed.
•This brings up a confirmation dialog box displaying the part name and indicating that the nominal of that particular part will be lost. Clicking on Yes will change the nominal of the part. Clicking on No will escape the box to the Tree window.
•The part whose nominal is to be changed has to be translated and rotated to the appropriate position before Set Type-in is selected. Once the position is changed and the part selected, Set Type-in locks in the new nominal position for the part.
