XIV. Clamp Base to offset AsmFixture point (Clamp_Base__A4_offset)

 

Base point A4_Base will be clamped to the AsmFixture using Target Associate direction and Soft (1DOF) joining type. Point A4_Base on AsmFixture is intentionally offset in z-dir by 5.0mm to increase the deformation of the two parts and make the spring-back easier to observe.

14.1 Select theClamp icon and choose the CMRailAsm product as parent part.

14.2 Name the move "Clamp_Base_A4_offset" with a description "Clamp Base to offset AsmFix pad, soft".

14.3 Click on the [ClickToAdd] button text in the Clamping Object Pts section and select points A4_Base for the Base in the Navigation Tree or from the Graph window.

14.4 Click on the ClickToAdd text in the Clamping Target Pts section and select points A4_Base for the AsmFixture in the Navigation Tree or from the Graph window.

 

 

14.5 The completed dialog box should appear as below:

 

 

 

14.6 Click [OK] to close the dialog box.

14.7 Save the model.

 

Results:

The nominal values of the measurements after clamping the Base to offset will change. Force values are changed slightly; the results are not reflected in the table below.
