New Feature

In 3DEXPERIENCE, the assembly can hold many different features like Products, 3D Parts, 3D Shapes and Drawings, all linking to there associated parts. The user can search for these individual items as well, but they can also be accessed if the user opens the main product.

Right-Click the on the top assembly, highlight Insert and select from the list of features that can be added. Existing features can also be added from this contextual menu.

Product: everything in 3DEXPERIENCE is created in a Product.

3D Part: similar to a Product, a 3D Part can hold additional features such as Drawings and Publications. If creating a new part in CATIA V6, a user will most likely use 3D Part.

3D Shape: is similar to a 3D Part, which a user can create geometry but it can't contain Publications. Additionally, a 3D Shape cannot be constrained within an assembly, nor can a user move the part's position.

Drawing: inserting a new drawing will create the drawing, as well as link the drawing in the assembly tree.

Review: is a new type of node that will hold Camera views, Notes and Slides.

Representation:  is similar, if not exactly like a 3D Part node. The user can create a Representation under a 3D Part or a Product and use that Representation to create geometry.

Publications: a publication can be used to establish a link to a surface, edge, point or axis within a locked part. A user can use the publications to create FT&A within a 3D Shape or Representations as a Leaf Product.
