The GD&T Checker and Relationship Wizard (Relationship) is a tree dialog that shows relationships of features and points used in Moves, Tolerances/GD&T and Measures (MTMs). This dialog also shows GD&T errors and warnings, or if features are used or not used in GD&T/3DCS Tolerance but are used in other MTMs. The GD&T Checker/Relationship Wizard can be found under the Validation menu.

Hide Toleranced Features: Points and Features that are used in GD&T or 3DCS Tolerances will be hidden.
Hide Unused Features: Hides Points and Features that are not used in other GD&T or 3DCS Tolerances.
Hide MTMs (Moves, Tolerances, GD&T and Measures): Hides all MTMs from in the model list.
Summary: Creates a text file and reports the Features and GD&T that have Errors and Warnings.
Refresh: Any Model changes gets updated quickly in the relationship tree on clicking the Refresh button.
Syntax, Error Messages, and Deviation Validation
Below is a list of messages validating the GD&T inputs. The messages can be seen within the GD&T Checker and Relationship Wizard is open. 3DCS will deviate these tolerances in this order for the Analysis. 1.Size 2.Form 3.Orientation 4.Location 5.Pattern 6.Dimensions

A feature or point may have been deleted. Check the dialog and remove the line that displays "No Selection". |

Edit the name of the MTM and GD&T, remove '#' or "=" from the name or the description. |

Datum Reference Frame (DRF) |
Error |
Primary Plane is Parallel to Secondary Plane In DRF |
The Secondary points create a plane parallel to the Primary feature. (65630) Users will need to change the Secondary points direction to establish a better Datum Reference Frame. |
The DRF has either been deleted or changed. Double-click the line in the Run Log or Validation window to edit or delete the DRF. |
|||
Warning |
Datum not referenced. |
The datum is not applied in a Datum Reference Frame. The Datum may be not used in a Geometric Tolerance or defined a DRF. Create a new DRF with the datum feature. |
|
Ignore Different DRF on the same feature. |
Warning only - No solution. (Ref. 67146) - The second DRF on the same feature will be ignored for the analysis. |

Orientation GD&T |
Error |
Contain non-Planar features in Orientation GTOL. (May need a direction). |
The GD&T defined is a cylindrical feature but isn't defined without a diametrical zone. 3DCS will require a direction. Please add a direction in the GD&T Options tab. |

Geometric Tolerances |
Error |
Invalid Range (+/-X.X) (Size) Should be > (greater than) Range (+/-X.X) in GD&T (Parallelism, Angularity, Position). |
Create Feature Slot/Tab and select the Slot/Tab in the tolerances instead of the surface. Change the range of geometric tolerance (Position, Parallelism, Angularity) to be smaller than the Size tolerance total range. |
Warning |
If Orientation == Location, Message: Warning: Orientation Zone is equal to Location Zone. Entire Zone will be applied as Orientation.
If Form == Orientation, Message: Warning: Form Zone is equal to Orientation Zone. Entire Zone will be applied as Form.
If Form == Location, Message: Warning: Form Zone is equal to Location Zone. Entire Zone will be applied as Form.
If Form == Orientation == Location, Message: Warning: Form Zone is equal to Orientation Zone & Location Zone. Entire Zone will be applied as Form. |
Reduce the Form and/or Orientation tolerances to allow for Location, Orientation and Form tolerances to apply each type of variation to the model. (68239) |
|
Orientation > Location, Message: Orientation Zone larger than Location Zone, please correct.
Form > Orientation, Message: Form Zone larger than Orientation Zone, please correct.
Form > Location, Message: Form Zone larger than Location Zone, please correct. |

Changing to a type that does not allow an offset. The entered offset (X.XX) will be removed. |
Editing the dialog or opening Validate will change certain GD&T that had an offset in previous versions and do not currently have an Offset field. (71084) |

Multiple Profile GDTs applied on same features - smaller tolerance is ignored |
No action required. Review the GD&T and deactivate the required note, then re-run the Simulation. (70282) |
