Simulation Repeatability

3DCS can reproduce the exact statistical results from the same model, by maintaining the same number of runs and the same initial seed.  In some instances, models are not created in the same fashion.  For example, if tolerances are added in a different order between two otherwise identical models, the statistical results may vary within the same confidence interval.  The following is a list of other factors that may contribute to this phenomenon.

A Few Reasons Why:

Tolerances applied in a different order.

Different number of and order of DCS Points within a given tolerance or GD&T.

Different float setting within each move.

Circles on 3DCS points or Feature points created in a different order.

Number of Simulation Runs specified.

Initial Seed specified.

The minimum segment number specified in DCS Preferences.
