Joints and Constraints

CATIA V5 allows users to create Joints and Constraints within the DMU Kinematics and Assembly Design workbench.

 

Constraints will align, contact, offset or angle parts to position and constrain the parts together, simulating a realistic way the physical parts would contact.

 

Joints can also simulate ways for the parts to contact with an applied motion. Creating Constraints in Assembly Design and then utilizing Assembly Constraints conversion in DMU Kinematics, will quickly create Joints based on the Constraints and how they contact the parts.
