Slots and Tabs are frequently used as 2-way locators in assemblies. They may be created within a 3DCS model and used in all MTM's. Additionally, when selected in a move, Slot-Pin floating can then be defined in the Move Options.
|
1.To create a slot or tab in 3DCS, click the Slot/Tab icon on the 3DCS Model Creation toolbar.
2.The Edit Slot/Tab dialog will open. Select Create.
3.Pick the two flat sides of the slot or the two sides of the tab or any two points.
The vector direction of the first selected feature will dictate whether a slot or a tab will be created. If the first feature's associated vector points away from the second feature, a Tab will be created. If the first feature's vector points towards the second feature, a Slot will be created. |

5.The name may be edited in the Name field.
6.The default direction type is associate and the vector displayed is from the first feature picked in creating the slot.
