The Update Geometry command updates the feature point coordinates and vectors for modified assemblies and parts, and regenerates the 3DCS Mesh for analysis and visualization. Update Geometry can be performed on selected parts and assemblies or the entire model. Users are prompted with the following dialog upon launching the command:

Update Geometry should be performed in the following situation:
•When geometry has been modified.
•When Mesh Density or Solid Part Deviation in the 3DCS Preferences has been modified.
•When a new or revised part has been loaded or replaced.
•When Cylinder Threshold is modified. In this case a message will appear to warn the user about potential changes:
Note:Update Geometry performs internal steps, which is recorded, and along with the time each step takes, in to the DCS Log File. Since Update Geometry regenerates mesh and updates the location of features points on modified geometry the simulation results may slightly change. For more information see Simulation Repeatability.
