Graphical Analysis

Graphical analysis is a visual method of examining the assembly method, assembly process and assembly variation of a model.

 

There are different types of analysis that can be performed on a model. The most basic type of analysis would be to check if all the Moves are functioning properly and the assembly sequence is being followed strictly.  An inaccurate assembly sequence may produce improperly built assemblies and inaccurate Measured values.  Checking Moves and the Assembly sequence can be done using the Assemble, Separate and Nominal Build functions.  This and other functions are used to assist in the preliminary analysis are discussed in the Preliminary Analysis section.

 

Once the preliminary analysis is satisfactorily completed, the model can be statistically analyzed for standard deviation, process capability, and Contributor Analysis.  This is covered in the Statistical Analysis section. When a simulation of the assembly model has been performed, it generates a report on the capability of the process to consistently produce parts within the desired limits. It also shows how the process is centered about its mean value. The output from the Contributor Analysis helps in determining the contributing factors that the various tolerances have on a particular measured area. The effects that these contributors have, are listed in terms of a percentage value. These percentage values define the significance of  each tolerance towards the specified measurement.
