Procedure:

1.Open the DVTI_tolearncelist Tolerance list and select DVTI_sizegdt Size Tolerance.

2.Select [Add] to select Points or Features. The Points selected are should also be defined with a Circle Size in the Points dialog.

Point-Based Size Tolerance

Parameters:

Enter the parameters to define the desire tolerance and deviation on a point or a group of points.

Name: Allows the user to change the name of the size tolerance.

Description: Enter a description about this tolerance. This can be viewed in the Contributor Analysis results and the Model Report.

Mode: Set the tolerance as a Group or Independent.

oIndependent will deviate each point or a group of points independently of each point.

oGroup will deviate all the points selected within the same tolerance range.

Features: Select a point, multiple points or Features of Size to apply Size deviation.

Rand. Index: Shows which Random Number the user will edit and apply the range.

Rand. No.: Shows the amount of Random numbers available in the tolerance.

Rand. Type:.Shows the tolerance deviation type.

Distribution: Set the Distribution to change how the Size Tolerance deviates the Point's size. See the list of Distributions available.

Scale: Applies a multiplication scalar to the Range. Commonly used when the Range is very small and requires amplification to be seen during Deviation.

Range / Offset: The size of the tolerance zone. Users can change how these are displayed in the Preferences dialog under MTM Defaults.

Min/Max Truncation: Allows the user to set the minimum/maximum value of the tolerance. See Truncation for more information..

OK: Will close the Entity dialog and save the changes.

Cancel: Will close the Entity dialog, ignoring the changes.

Note:

This is a Size Tolerance definition, similar to the GD&T Size Tolerance. Users can create this tolerance as a way to consistently create 3DCS Tolerances in their model. To create the legacy Circle Size Tolerance, go to the 3DCS Preferences arrowDCS MTM Defaults arrowDCS and activate the option called: Create size tolerance for hole/pin points automatically. Any Coordinate Points created on a Feature of Size, Points copied or moved using Copy Data or Copy/Paste, etc., will create the old tolerance.

This Size Tolerance does not control the Envelope of a Feature of Size.
