Below are a list of changes, enhancements and resolved issues based on the entire 3DCS suite or a specific CAD system available with 3DCS. Please review the list of changes and don't hesitate to ask about a specific change.
Any text written with a teal highlight refers to any Simulation Output change. In other words, some calculation changes were made to either a distribution, a measurement output or DLL result. This could result in minor changes to a previous Model Simulation output.
Advanced Analyzer and Optimizer
3DCS Variation Analyst is a powerful dimensional analysis tool that predicts the amounts of variation and highlights the causes for part and process variation in multi-stage assemblies. It empowers manufacturers to prevent build problems by quickly evaluating part tolerances, assembly tooling and sequencing ahead of time in the product development stage, so that desired fit and function specifications are achieved in production.

Monte Carlo Analysis:•Fixed a bug that was preventing Bonus Tolerance to be applied to pins or holes when the model is in Range Control mode. (71348) Contributor Analysis:•Analysis Comparisons and Assumptions - Contributor Analysis: Prior versions of 3DCS assumed Normal distributions for all input circular tolerances (this includes the Position GD&T and Circular Tolerance primarily, but also any GD&T with a Diametrical Zone) in Geofactor Analysis. The new results are an improved prediction of performance and should more closely match any comparison to common practices used in 1D stacks to simulate non-normal distributions. •Fixed the Contributor result inconsistency issue happening with pattern move. (71296) Generate Report•Fixed various changes from the previous release in the Excel and Spreadsheet Reports. (71392) (Check the Export Format change log for more specific changes). GD&T•Fixed a bug that would read in distributions incorrectly when we opening models from before 7.9.0.0. (71332) •Fixed a difference in interpretation that treated Straightness of a surface on an axial feature differently between RSS and RC analysis methods. RSS is the correct methodology as it does not effect the location of the central axis of the feature. Both RC and RSS will now behave as RSS. Features •The Local Coordinates for a dynamic point remain the same when translating the part.(71426) •Point names are not modified anymore when they initially are very similar but not identical.(71425) Moves•Calculation for the new case plane-pin-pin (Case 3.11) in Feature Move is revised to execute the move properly. (71483) •The point is moved to the intersection of the plane and line when using dcsMvTanslatePtToPlaneLine dll.(71319) Measure•Improved the enhanced Feature measure to show consistent Analysis results for Interference case.(71161)

General:•Fixed a bug that made it difficult to select Features within Creo when Mesh Display was turned on for particularly small models that had slots/tabs present. (71294)

No changes were made to 3DCS integrated NX platform for 7.9.0.2. |
General:•Added protection for the Model Navigator and 3DCS Dialogs from going behind the main Solidworks window. (71476) |
---|
Installation:•2019 runtime dlls added to 7.9.0.2 to avoid this issue on systems where the 2019 runtime is not already installed. (71313)
