Below are a list of changes, enhancements and resolved issues based on the entire 3DCS suite or a specific CAD system available with 3DCS. Please review the list of changes and don't hesitate to ask about a specific change.
Any text written with a teal highlight refers to any Simulation Output change. In other words, some calculation changes were made to either a distribution, a measurement output or DLL result. This could result in minor changes to a previous Model Simulation output.
Advanced Analyzer and Optimizer
3DCS Variation Analyst is a powerful dimensional analysis tool that predicts the amounts of variation and highlights the causes for part and process variation in multi-stage assemblies. It empowers manufacturers to prevent build problems by quickly evaluating part tolerances, assembly tooling and sequencing ahead of time in the product development stage, so that desired fit and function specifications are achieved in production.

General•Fixed an issue when selecting Restore Defaults in the Model Navigator options, which incorrectly changed the settings in App Data, causing the Distribution dialog to not open, or resetting the Catalog file for CATIA V5 from Read-Only to Read/Write. (73798)

NX useful topics: See more topics on Best Practices and FAQ on the DCS Community.General:•Fixed an issue with Extract Measures where the selection dialog with options was missing. (73867) |
SOLIDWORKS useful topics: See more topics on Best Practices and FAQ on the DCS Community.•Creating GD&T with DimXPert or MBD. No changes were made for SOLIDWORKS in 8.0.0.3. |

CATIA V5 useful topics: See more topics on Best Practices and FAQ on the DCS Community.General:•Fixed a data loss issue where the sub-assembly was saved without the top level assembly, causing the Tree Link Wizard to open, when opening the top level assembly, making the user to only delete the data. (73641). •Enhanced the method when users use Save As in CATIA V5 with 3DCS data. Saving a sub-assembly as different assemblies causes the 3DCS Unique ID (UID) to have the same UID as the other created sub-assemblies. Users will need to use a User-DLL to fix the UID and to insert assemblies. Please read more about how to save an assembly with a new Unique ID. (73605) •Added protection when the Assembly in CATIA V5/3DCS replaces the Unique ID with the wrong name, such as with the assembly name. This causes the Tree Structure Storage to be removed, and after Update Model, 3DCS will not have any data for the model. (73633) Features•Enhanced how 3DCS extracts/creates cylinders, if multiple cylinders exist on the same axis. Previously, only two cylindrical features would be created but they would share the same CAD surface. (73789)

Multi-CAD useful topics: See more topics on Best Practices and FAQ on the DCS Community.General:•A crash will no longer occur when clicking the Show button in the Coordinate Point on Solid dialog. (73784) Feature Linking•If Auto link could not link the correct feature it will be retained in the Feature wizard dialog for the user to manually link it. •Fixed an issue where the points were getting misplaced when using Auto Link.
